Historical Prospectus:
Chromatic Marmalade was born in a basement on Montgomery St in Ann Arbor, MI over seven years ago. The sole purpose of the band was to play at the bass player's wedding. With the warm reception we got at the wedding, we soon started to add more songs to the play list and made a commitment to the band. Soon after that June wedding day, we lost our harmonica player and gained a saxophone player.
With renewed spirits, we played our first "real" gig at Guy Hollerins. This soon was to become a semi -regular chance to play for thirsty volleyball players.
After our first Halloween show, the sexy drummer was proposed to which gave us another reason to add new songs and polish the old ones for another wedding performance. This led us into the studio where we cut a 9 track CD.
Now to the bands' surprise, our sax player is dabbling with a synthesizer to add another dimension to the sweet, sticky sound of the marmalade.
What's up next for the band? Who knows! If you come to a show, you might soon see a ukulele or bagpipe being played......
Take a look around the site and listen to a couple of tracks.
We hope to see you soon!
Thanks,
The Marmalade
